Uday is a Bihar born, Delhi based artist. Born in a family of Murtikar  deity makers, he was initiated in art through molding wet clay that would be shaped in definitive forms. To be worshipped, to pray to and become in many cases a life time companion, or then a momentary visitor who after lighting up the altar would carry on to be at one submerged in, with water. This sacred initiation is what molded him to practice art after going through a rigorous, wellstructured path. From his remote village in the east Bihar district in Munger, he travelled for the first on train, to the capital, only to join the College of Art and Craft, Patna. After finishing his BFA he joined Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi to for the Masters in Visual Art. Both spaces have honed him to become a dedicated student of contemparory art practice and the ideas that shape them. The education has been vital for him, through which he has been able to marry his innate traditional training with modern art movements and how they can become measured, forceful articulations of a practicing artist.
